For those who missed it, World Vape Day 2021 has already come and gone. Of course, it’ll come around again next year so there’s no reason to start pulling your hair out if you missed it. All the same, we wanted to take a moment to highlight this special day as it’s intended to celebrate the switch from smoking to vaping, which many of us have done.

Vaping is a less harmful alternative to smoking that has provided countless smokers with a way to transition to a smoke-free lifestyle. If you’re not hip to the latest scientific evidence to support this notion, just take a look at the growing number of studies that show vaping is not only less harmful but also an effective smoking cessation.

In the United States, the CDC answers the question of whether e-cigarettes are less harmful than regular cigarettes. Their answer? Yes.

With all of the evidence piling up, it’s about time vapers celebrate having made the switch from smoking to vaping and that’s what World Vape Day is all about. But that’s not all it’s about. It’s about focusing on the good aspects of vaping and that’s not something you may hear much about if your only source of vaping news is the mainstream media.

In celebration of World Vape Day 2021, the R&D department at BAT issued a news release highlighting 10 years of scientific evidence on vaping. Here’s what vaping research over the last decade has shown us:

  • Switching completely to vaping products has reduced health risks.
  • Contrary to what many people still believe, vaping has been shown to be less harmful than smoking.
  • Smokers who would not otherwise quit may find success in quitting with vaping products.
  • Vaping products play an important role in tobacco harm reduction.

With all this in mind, here’s to celebrating World Vape Day for many years to come!
